The Next John Stockton

Bradley has been playing Jazz basketball for the past 3 weeks and let me tell you, he is one intense player. For any of you out there that know him well you already know that he is kinda short, okay really short (he has me to thank for that), but he is very competitive. He loves to play and he plays hard. At this age they don't keep score, but he tries to keep track in his head. Let's just say that the last two games his team has lost but in his mind they tied. Another fun thing about his team is that his Grandpa Williams is his coach. Brad was really excited about this at first but yesterday he informed me that it's kinda hard having grandpa for a coach because sometimes he is mean. Well, he's not mean but he is just as competitive as Brad is, so they are a fun combination. He does think grandpa knows everything about basketball, though. At one of Brad's games Collin sat next to him when he was sitting out and was going to give him a little fatherly advice about how he plays, Brad just looked up at him and said, "Do you think you know more than Grandpa!!!" It wasn't a question, it was a statement. And so our work is cut out for us, hopefully we can keep up with what Grandpa knows.

Yeh, this isn't the greatest picture (our camera doesn't do motion shots well) but it does show how intent Brad is to get the ball.

Brad is number 5...the short one.

At this age there is not a lot of dribbling going on so Brad is one of the few kids on his team that can dribble the ball and he has kind of taken over the role of point guard.

4 who goes there?:

Yeah, so I just realized that I married my complete opposite. Up until this very moment, Heather did not know who John Stockton was!!! She also had no idea who Karl Malone was...and I had to explain to her what a point guard is. She also has a hard time imagining dad as being "mean." Give me a few more years and she'll be talking sports with the best of them.

Also, your blog kicks our blog's butt. We miss your kids and wish we could see the next Johnny Stockton in action.
Love,
Chris, Heather, Gabe, and Marissa
